Yoga Rouge Classes

Hot Power

Hot power is a vigorous, aerobic, flow/vinyasa class. We flow with the breath (pranayama), mindful moving, sun salutations with group breath. The room is heated to 90-98 degrees, 70-80% humidity. It's a fun, sweaty, and moving mediation. Our Basic Workshop (which you will love), some knowledge of poses and sun salutations is recommended, but not required. The best way to learn is to jump in and do what you can!

Mindful Flow

All are welcome! Formally known as our Warm Flow, but slower and more gentle, this is a Flow/Vinyasa class - sun salutations, moving with your breath (pranayama) with fewer chaturangas and shorter pose (asana) holds, with emphasis on on slow, controlled, purposeful movement matched with breath. This class is heated to around 80 degrees, room temperature in the summer.

Yin and Yoga Nidra

Yin Yoga is generally 5-10 poses you hold for 1-5 minutes each. It targets the deep tissues and fascial stretch. Poses are held seated or lying on the floor with bolsters and blankets. Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation that allows for complete relaxation. It takes you to that magical place between sleep and wake.

Restorative and Yoga Nidra

Deepen your practice by further developing the limbs of yoga with an alternating body-mind focused class each Sunday at 7pm! Starting March 14th with a Candlelight Restorative & Nidra, this class will begin with finding comfortable poses for extended periods of time to stretch the body and will end with a guided meditation/thought practice to calm the mind and develop the mental limbs that increase the ease of daily life stresses. Join us the following week to focus on the body and breath with Yin. This class finds your body’s personal edge and allows the body to find comfort in the uncomfortable, deepening the limits of the muscles with longer holds than flow and power classes. Check the schedule to see which class is given each week and reserve your spot!

Kids Yoga

Barefoot Kids – This class is for children and those who are children at heart. Kids can practice alone or with a parental figure. This is a fun class that plants a seed and creates a foundation of learning for eventual transition into the world of yoga. We discover poses as animals using western language, through stories and games. Children burn off energy and engage in a peaceful journey. We begin the practice of stillness, listening, focus and meditation.

Vinyasa Beats

A vibrant vinyasa style class with influences from a blend of yoga styles. This class explores the yin and yang, masculine and feminine elements of yoga. It plays to both energies by combining fiery and dynamic with soft and flowy asanas and breath work. Be ready for a juicy, powerful flow appropriate for all levels.

Basics/Beginner’s

Though not required, it is highly recommended for everyone new to yoga and new to Yoga Rouge. In this class, we walk through a typical Vinyassa or Flow class, dissecting the poses and modifications. We will practice and discuss oujaii/deep breathing and savasana/meditation. It is a gentle, easy flow with basic poses. Please bring your questions and poses you are working on before class and we will try to incorporate them into the class. If no beginners attend, we will have a gentle flow class. This class is at room temperature, about 75 degress.
