Frequently Asked Questions

Why Yoga Rouge?

Because we genuinely care about YOUR experience! We have gone the extra lengths to create a welcoming, inviting, and the safest space possible, combined with tiny little touches to complete your yoga experience.

All of our instructors are 200+ YOGA certified, Yoga Alliance accredited and recognized. Attended IN PERSON trainings. We believe in SAFE and REAL yoga.

Heather and Dana each have over 10 years experience teaching, both are E-500RYT, which means are advanced yoga instructors. They have both taken over 500 hours of yoga certifications and have taught over 2,000 hours. Even though they facilitate the teacher trainings, they cannot get enough learning and certifications themselves. Experience and knowledge make a difference. There is always excitement when they return to share their experience, what they learned and see what they incorporate into their next classes.

Our environment and atmosphere stand alone. We invested in special floors to absorb impact (better for bones, joints, and muscles), radiant heat panels that feel like sunshine on your skin, and a steamer/humidifier to help you breathe better and keep your sinuses from drying out. Plus, it’s a great detoxification! This makes a huge difference.

Tried “hot yoga” before and didn’t like it? Have you tried a place like our’s? Floors, heat panels, steamer, and real certified instructors make a difference. It takes 3-5 consistent classes to acclimate to the heat and poses. It takes 30 days of consistent practices to see real results.

What do I wear?

Comfortable clothes that move and bend with you, and will keep you covered in all positions. If doing hot yoga, be prepared to sweat! Clothes designed to handle perspiration work best.

Do I have to be in good shape and/or flexible?

No, but before starting any new physical activity, you should check with your doctor. You should also listen to your body and pull back or modify if you feel weak or dizzy. Most people go to yoga to get more flexible. You do only what your body allows you to do.

What should I bring?

WATER! Your mat, a mat towel (for hot yoga), a face/hand towel, blocks and/or straps. We do have blocks and mat cleaner for your use. We do sell and rent mats, mat towels, and face towels. We sell water and other beverages. An open mind and open heart!

Do I need to sign up ahead of time?

YES! It is not required, but advance sign-up is recommended to ensure your spot, especially now that class sizes are limited.

Where do I put my keys, phone and stuff??

We provide cubbies that are monitored while you are in class. PLEASE SILENCE YOUR PHONE.

What if I am late or miss a class I am registered for?

We recommend getting to class 15 minutes prior to the class start time, 20-30 if it is your first time and/or need to rent a mat. DOORS LOCK 5 minutes BEFORE class start time and we cannot let you in once class has begun, for safety and consideration of all students. Especially since our classes are limited right now, we are enforcing this. If you are late or no-show, you forfeit that class. If you are on unlimited, you will be charged $10. Please be mindful of others when you do enter the studio.

What if I have to use the bathroom?

Please quietly leave, and quietly come back with little to no commotion.

What if I have to leave early?

If you can, let your teacher know ahead of time and try to find a spot as close to the door as possible.

Should I eat or drink before class?

Each person and body is different, but we do not recommend eating an hour before class. We do recommend drinking plenty of water, especially after class.

Is there music in class?

Most of our classes do not have music. We listen to the class breath and call poses accordingly. One of the most beautiful experiences is that of a large class joined in synchronized breath. We do have VINYASA BEATS, which does have music! Classes that have music are noted in the class descriptions. Yoga Rouge occasionally has special classes with live or recorded music, but we notify you of these.

What if I pass gas/fart?

Everybody does it, nobody cares. Just keep going with your class! 95% of the time it’s noises made from the mat, especially from a sweaty back! However, if you are having tummy issues, please be mindful of your neighbors.
